Wessel has received five promotions since originally joining the Enterprise staff in 1995. Most recently, from 2021-23, Wessel served as vice president of global business management. In that position, he had responsibility for leading worldwide administrative functionalities for all lines of business.
From 2018-21, Wessel was vice president for Entegral, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Enterprise Mobility. In that role, he oversaw the operations for the integrated software business that streamlines the post-accident process for service providers working to get customers on their way and back into vehicles.
From 2007-18, Wessel served as vice president of business management. In that position, he oversaw administrative operations for Enterprise’s regional subsidiaries in the North Central and Northeastern United States. Wessel was also responsible for supporting the supply chain management and sustainability efforts.
After two years in his initial position as a staff auditor, Wessel was tabbed as controller for Southwestern Ontario from 1997-2002 and controller for Northeastern Ohio from 2002-07.
Wessel started his career at Ernst & Young in 1992 after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Louis University (SLU) and passing his CPA exam.
Always eager to help in the community, Wessel serves on the Board of Trustees at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Dean’s Advisory Council for SLU’s Chaifetz School of Business. He is also the treasurer for Counterpublic, a community-oriented triennial civic exhibition on contemporary art.
