The wildfires currently raging across Canada are the most severe ever recorded. Roughly 2.7 million hectares of forest have been consumed in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Northwest Territories, and nearly 30,000 individuals have been displaced.

In response, Enterprise Holdings recently announced a $25,000 CAD donation to the United Way of Halifax to assist those impacted by the wildfires in the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia.

"Enterprise Holdings is firmly dedicated to safeguarding our communities,"  Enterprise Holdings Foundation President Carolyn Kindle said. "In light of the destructive wildfire crisis, we are proud to support the United Way's relief efforts. This donation exemplifies our unwavering commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work as well as our earnest desire to help those communities foster resilience during challenging times."

According to Canada’s Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair, 214 wildfires are now burning in Canada, with 93 of them classified as out of control. The unprecedented situation has compelled the Government of Canada to deploy the Canadian Armed Forces to provide planning and coordination support, as well as firefighters and fire specialists to help control the blazes.

The donation will help the United Way prioritize those experiencing poverty or marginalization and aid people who may have limited access to resources and social support during the recovery process.
