In 1999, after recognizing an unmet need to provide large vans and trucks to customers, Enterprise began piloting a brand-new service – then called Enterprise Rent-A-Truck – in three markets: Southern California, New Orleans and Virginia. The pilot proved to be a huge success; the business had expanded to 100 locations nationwide by 2007.
In 2010, the burgeoning truck rental division recognized an opportunity to redefine its strategy to also appeal to customers who never thought of truck rental as a viable option for their business. The division was rebranded Enterprise Commercial Trucks to better reflect the incredible opportunity with business customers.
In 2012, Enterprise Commercial Trucks went international with its first location in Canada. What started as a single location in Toronto serving the eastern part of the country (Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec) has since grown to more than 100 locations across Canada.
